"Closer To The Sun" art exhibition in Jerusalem

The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in assistance of Association of Jews repatriates from Kazakhstan and Central Asia organised an exhibition of artists repatriated from Kazakhstan, devoted to celebrating of the Constitution Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The exhibition with the symbolical name «Closer To The Sun» has opened with solemn presentation of works on September, 13th at the complex of Beit-Shmuel in Jerusalem and will be open until September, 30th.

The purpose of the first sui generis exhibition is to establish the bridge between Israel and Kazakhstan by means of art.

His Excellency Mr. Galym Orazbakov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the State of Israel, has given a speech at the solemn opening ceremony.

Among the invited visitors there were representatives of Israeli ministries, scientific circles, art galleries, mass-media, diplomatic corps and also the wide public. The catalogue of works in Hebrew and Russian has been printed for this event.

Pictures of six artists working in different styles and technicians (oil, acrylic, aquarelle, a photo and reliefs in concrete and plaster) have been presented to attention of exhibition visitors. They are: Tanirbergen Abdeliev, Israel (Izmail) Galin, Alexander Ganelin, Sofia Divinski, Marat Dyusembaev, Julia Segal.

All six artists live in Israel: four were born and have grown in Kazakhstan, two have lived and many years worked in Kazakhstan. The curator of the exhibition is Dvora Goldberger.

There was shown a film about Kazakhstan, screened 94 works of 38 Kazakhstan modern artists, kindly provided by "Arvest" art gallery (Almaty), and also works of American Jeweller Pavel Lantuha, the native of Kazakhstan.

The photo-exhibition about Kazakhstan and Astana and fragments of the Kazakh Yurta (nomadic house) with corresponding ornaments were exposed in the central yard of the Beit-Shmuel Complex.
